LIDL bike kit

Post by Jamstealer » Mon Feb 11, 2019 6:12 pm

For info: I noticed in our local LIDL that they currently have a stock of their Helmets; gloves and bike undershirts/long johns.
Useful if you want cheap spare stuff;
I have a pair of their gloves from a few years ago; they are actually waterproof! The underwear I found is excellent.
The helmet ( I got one as a spare for a neighbour who is an occasional pillion) is a flip front. It’s not bad-although a bit heavy and a bit noisy isn’t bad as a backup.

We toured Norway and Sweden, down to 6°C wearing their long johns under trousers and waterproofs, very pleased with them.

I use their underwear also. Riding in the North of England you are welcome of it. Also have a pair of their summer gloves, their textile 'touring' jacket (which is excellent) and their armoured jeans (Adequate). Not sure I'd risk putting my head in one of their lids - I'm quite attached to that - but the majority of the Aldi/Lidl ranges I'm pretty pleased with... :rider
Yes there are two paths you can go down, but in the long run, there's still time to change the road you're on...

I wouldn’t worry about the safety of a Lidl helmet. It’s CE and German TUV approved. It’s also made by AGV under contract to Crivit.
