What a storm last night. Thunder lightning hail and really heavy rains. I'm sure we had a lightning strike close to the house, the electric went off as usual, the 🐱 disappeared, strangely my friends cat turned up, after having been missing for a week. The rain was great for the garden and our pond. That's going to please the coypu, giving them more play space!

We had been forecast heavy rain and storms, but although there was much rumbling, it hardly wet the ground. Mark you it did rain a bit, so part of the forecast was correct. It needs to try harder!

We had a few spectacular flashes of lightning and some thunder that seemed to shake the house but the amount of rain that fell was disappointing.

Well last night it decided to let us know what it should have been like before and taking my previous comments into account: it hurled it down. Started about 11pm with a spectacular lightning show. Then the wind started and soon after the rain. Electricity went off about 11.15 and then all hell let loose. Went to bed and hoped it would not damage too much. Electrics came back on about 2am after the storm had passed. This morning revealed broken fence, an empty apple tree, garden furniture in the hedge and a metal pole holding our sail, bent to 90°. So today has been a recovery and repair day.

Obviously some apple scrumpers used the storm as cover and broke your fence etc. to cover their tracks. Check ebay.fr for cheap cider in a few weeks.
