It doesn't mean a lot to me, not being into cruisers, but I just thought y'all ought to know.

There was a thread on here about it a few days ago.

There's a few rumours on USA forums that HD are sniffing around looking to buy the Victory brand.

I really dont see the point of that. The got it wrong when they bought Buell, and even worse when they bought MV Agusta. The victory range was very similar to Harley - they should stick to what they know best.

If it's true ( and it's probably just Internet forum waffling) I would guess that HD would buy it in order to bury it and ensure that the Victory Brand couldn't be revived again as a competitor.

I saw the announcement posted on the French Victory club forum that I'm a member of. Not good news at all. Polaris say that they will cover all warranties and keep supplying parts for the next 10 years. They say that sales were not producing the profits that they needed so they're now going to concentrate just on the Indian brand. It's a real shame, Victory's have a really good reputation for reliability. The Vision and Cross country were so different compared to Harley and Indian. I'll be hanging on to mine. It's the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden (500 kms in a day, no problems) and I really love the style of the bike. Hopefully it will become a bit of a collectors bike!! Ironically I received my Victory Honoured Riders patch from the Victory Riders Association in the post two days after the announcement that they were killing off the brand! icon_thatsfunny .
