Got absolutely sodden drenched a couple of days back. It was OK when I left home but I rode into it en route, the skies opened. Reminded me to get my jacket reproofed!

Must have been Wednesday when I rode in continuous rain to Caen, normally just under 6 hours took me 9 but stopped for lunch to get warm.. nightmare journey again

I remember well riding back from Caen in the pouring rain and, yes, my journey was way longer than it would have been in the dry. I remember straight lining (as much as poss) roundabouts around Le Mans because I was so uncertain as to grip (lorries leaving rubber and oil). Also, braking gently and way in advance, hoping following traffic was attentive. Aquaplaning (I'm pretty sure) uphill on Tours' ringroad. Honestly, I was bricking myself on a number of occasions that day. Not a journey I'd like to repeat.

What a co-incidence. We drove to Caen on Wednesday , and it rained all day for us as well. Fortunately we were in the car. Didn't see many motorbikes on the road. Were you on the 11pm ferry ?

A strange day today. Heavy frost this morning but lizards outside now enjoying the warm sunshine.
