1938 BMW R66. Was owned by the BMW racing team ( with Georg Meier who won the 1939 IOM TT with the supercharged RS255.
The bike was impounded by the Brits at the beginning of WW2, along with much of the team’s gear.
My uncle was issued with it during the war to use for his duties and was allowed to buy it at the end of the war. He “ permanently loaned” it to me during the 1980s, but between us, we decided to sell it to a collector in ( I think) 1990. A fantastic bit of engineering; engine as quiet as a sewing machine, and wonderful to ride. Telescopes forks and rear dampers; really smooth to ride.

kicked it of you new about it or you went over the bars it had a very large rear stand that sprung up into a clip when you pushed it of .
