A very good variation on the theme of Sultan's of Swing - excellent, but I wouldn't have recognised it as S of S except for the odd chord.

Excellent - I love a well played guitar - my guitar hero was Gary Moore. I saw him 3 or 4 times, and he had so much control over his audience. One minute he would be playing classic hard rock to a bunch of roaring bikers, then next song he would turn round, switch to an acoustic guitar, then you wouldnt hear a peep from the audience as they listened to every note.

I used to see this guy a lot in London when I was working there .
I do like people who re-interpret stuff; the Spanish/flamenco influences go so well into SoS.

Heres another great blues guitarist; I have seen Ben Poole a few times now; another standard done slightly differently;

And a different version love the folky/jazz rock influences. Plus Anne Harris on the fiddle is a star

Haven't seen Ben Poole before, but really liked his version of that Hendrix classic!

Never heard of Ben Poole, but I'm mega impressed. Reminds of some rock guitarist I heard warming up at the fete de la music a few years ago - really caught my attention but it knocked me out when I saw he was just a little kid - maybe 10 or 12 year old. Last I heard he had done stuff like backing Yanick Noah at his Paris gig.

That was one of his showpieces. Seen him do it twice. He is a stunning live performer.

Whilst on subject of blues etc;
Layla Zoe is playing at Cognac Blues Passion 7 July.
Some say she is like a new Janis Joplin .
Real gritty blues;
