Interesting final day with a lack lustre England missing the grand slam after falling at the last hurdle. They will have to settle for the Championship this year. I am sure there are a lot of other teams that would like to be able to say that.
Scotland as expected beat Italy with a bonus point . Finally a bizarre finish in Paris which went on for 20 extra minutes with allegations of French cheating, someone chewing George North's arm and a fairly inept performance by the referee, not helped much by the other linesmen and the TMO. All makes for good entertainment.

Has there been a change in the laws regarding penalty tries? It was quite clear that Wales could not defend their line without incurring penalties and, in the past, the referee would have issued a warning before eventually awarding a penalty try. The 20 minute farce should never have been allowed to happen.

I agree Cornishman. After every infringement I expected Wayne Barnes to go to the posts and signal a try.

A shame not to beat the All Blacks undefeated run. Ah well, back to game 1. Congrats to Ireland and commiserations to Wales. That extra time was bizarre, imagine getting sin binned in the 80th minute then coming back on 10 minutes later and still getting 10 mins play time. I spent last night with a gang of jubilant Irish supporters at Motobreaks, all the English had gone home. icon_Ireland icon_guiness

HT .. a tad more impressive than their Union counterparts at Twickers yesterday. Good job it was Argentina we were playing and not Wales. Just read that the England players get £22,000 a match compared to Samoa's £650. Let's hope they earn it next week v Australia.

World Cup to be hosted in France again. At least I won't have to shell out for accommodation like I did in 2007. Although I'd best start saving up for tickets :D

2023. Surprised they got it again so soon, South Africa were favourites.
