There were two "interesting" bikes that AMC put together as the clock approached midnight - the G50CSR Golden Eagle (here's a French replica) and the G85CS..
The G85CS had a lightweight chrome/moly frame and the rest of the bike had been on a diet - it weighed in at only 318lbs..
Why oh why didn't AMC drop the G50 motor into that lightweight frame.. That would have been some bike.
It had "Competition" everything - Lucas comp mag, scrambles cam, scrambles bottom end,
comp gearbox, LH oil tank (completely unobtainium now), short stroke motor, Norton oil pump,
Q/D headlight, Q/D wheels, folding US-style footrests.. It came with a 11:1 piston..
In the interest of smoother running and for ease of starting I changed it for an 8.5:1.
Also fitted Hagon shocks, changed to 12v electrics and Dell'Orto pumper carb.
